Sakura Matcha Cream Green Tea
A delicate floral twist on your everyday green tea ritual
There’s something quietly beautiful about sakura season - soft florals, fresh beginnings and moments that feel intentionally slow. Our Sakura Matcha Cream Green Tea captures that feeling in a cup.
This recipe pairs the gentle bitterness of green tea with a velvety sakura matcha cream, lightly sweetened with maple syrup.
Why You’ll Love It
The floral notes of sakura matcha add a subtle sweetness and elegance, while the green tea base keeps it light and refreshing. The cream floats delicately on top, creating a beautiful contrast in both texture and flavour.
Ingredients
For the sakura matcha cream:
- 50ml heavy cream
- 4g sakura matcha
- Maple syrup, to taste
- A splash of milk (around 50g total liquid, including cream and milk)
For the base:
- 1 green tea bag
- 100ml hot water
- A few ice cubes
Method
1. Make the sakura matcha cream
In a small bowl or cup, combine the heavy cream, sakura matcha and maple syrup. Add a splash of milk and froth until thick, smooth and softly whipped. The texture should be pourable yet airy.
2. Prepare the green tea
Steep the green tea bag in 100ml of hot water for 2 minutes. Remove the tea bag and allow it to cool slightly. Add a few ice cubes to chill.
3. Assemble
Pour the cooled green tea into a glass, then gently spoon or pour the sakura matcha cream over the top. Watch as it forms a soft green cloud above the tea.
4. Enjoy
Sip as is for layered flavour, or stir gently to combine the creamy floral notes with the refreshing green tea base.
This Sakura Matcha Cream Green Tea is more than a drink, it’s a small moment of calm. Light, floral and beautifully balanced, it’s perfect for creating a café-style experience at home.
