A Layered Hojicha Cloud with Coconut and Jasmine

Inspired by the matcha cloud version, this hojicha brings a deeper, more roasted profile while keeping the same soft and airy texture.

It begins with a hojicha cloud, light, airy, and deeply aromatic. To create this, hojicha powder is first whisked with warm water into a smooth paste, allowing the tea to dissolve and release its signature depth fully. The paste is then combined with heavy cream and gently frothed until it becomes soft and fluffy.

Because hojicha has naturally strong smoky notes, it is best used sparingly. A small amount is enough to bring warmth and complexity without overpowering the drink.

The first sip delivers a rich burst of hojicha, toasty and comforting. This is followed by the refreshing lightness of coconut water, creating a clean contrast. As the flavours settle, a delicate jasmine finish begins to appear, leaving a soft floral aftertaste that lingers on the palate.

It is a drink that unfolds slowly, with each layer revealing itself over time.
